Woody Allen


El cineasta Woody Allen y su New Orleans Jazz Band se presentarán por primera vez en el Festival Internacional de Jazz de Montreal en junio.
.
Admirador de las grandes bandas de Nueva Orleans, Allen toca regularmente en el Café Carlyle en Manhattan, y en 1996 realizó una gira por Paris, Venecia, Barcelona, Atenas, Monte Carlo y Munich.
.
En el Festival de Montreal tocará en una única función el 30 de junio.

Chano Dominguez - Acercate Mas - 2006

Pianista de jazz español nacido en Cádiz el 29 de marzo de 1960.
Su primer contacto con la música se debe a la gran afición de su padre al flamenco.

Chano es actualmente el músico que tiene mayor fama por combinar esta música con el jazz.

Ha grabado varios discos y colaborado con músicos y cantantes en España y otros países.

Fue el único músico español en la excelente película de Fernando Trueba Calle 54 dedicada al jazz latino.

Desde los 10 a los 21 años estudió en el Conservatorio de Música de París y luego estudió siete años con Nadia Boulanger.
.
Sus inclinaciones musicales lo llevaron siempre a escribir canciones (siendo él mismo un cantante).
.
Luego del éxito de su primer álbum Amo a París, trabajó con varios grandes del jazz como Miles Davis y John Coltrane en su siguiente álbum Legrand jazz.

Cuando comenzó a trabajar en música para filmes, tuvo un gran éxito, ya que no sólo componía canciones pegadizas sino que componía material orquestal de un fuerte sentido lírico.

Muchas de su música son para películas francesas (como las del director Jean-Luc Godard) pero también produjo para un buen número de películas estadounidenses, como The Thomas Crown affair (con su conocido tema The windmills of your mind, 'los molinos de viento de tu mente'), Verano del '42 y Yentl.

Sumo nació y murió con Luca Prodan.

Luca nació en Roma, hijo de un italiano y una escocesa. La familia había padecido los campos de concentración de la Segunda Guerra, pero con el tiempo logró reponerse y hacer cierta fortuna. Luca estudió en Escocia y vivió toda la década de los '70 en Londres.

Allí tocaba la guitarra en diferentes pubs de los barrios bajos.

En 1981 aceptó la invitación de un amigo que vivía en un campo de Córdoba y se vino para las sierras de Mina Clavero, sin hablar ni una sola palabra de español y planeando comprar vacas con todos sus ahorros.

Al poco tiempo se aburrió de la tranquilidad y se mudó a Buenos Aires. Concretamente a la localidad de Hurlingham.

Con un grupo de amigos tomaron la iniciativa y gastaron toda la plata en equipos:

Germán Daffunchio tocaría la guitarra; Alejandro Sokol el bajo y Stephanie Nuttal, una amiga inglesa, la batería.

Sumo se formó en 1981 y debutó en febrero de 1982 en el Pub Caroline's de El Palomar.
Su primera actuación importante se llevó a cabo en el Festival Rock del Sol a la Luna, en las instalaciones del Club Estudiantes de Buenos Aires en Caseros, el 20 de marzo de 1982.

Del mismo participaron Riff, Juan Carlos Baglietto, Orions y Los Violadores.

Asistieron unas 20.000 personas.

Cuando estalló la Guerra de Malvinas, Stephanie volvió a Gran Bretaña y Sokol pasó a tocar la batería. Diego Arnedo, un vecino, se incorporó en el bajo.

Roberto Pettinato, director de la revista "El Expreso Imaginario" fue invitado también para algunos shows, y quedó.

Dos recopilaciones oficiales salieron a la calle en 1991:

"Collection" y "Grandes Exitos".

Dos grupos derivaron de Sumo: Divididos (con Arnedo y Mollo) y Las Pelotas (Daffunchio / Sokol).

Es un músico (J.L.) que, basado en su gran capacidad técnica, ha logrado crear con originalidad y creatividad un nuevo estilo.

No en vano el musicólogo francés Bernard Gavoty sostiene la tesis en la cual declara: "Loussier, ¿el mejor pianista del mundo? En su género, sin ninguna duda".

Jacques Loussier Trío es, como su propio nombre indica, un trío de jazz compuesto de piano (Jacques Loussier), contrabajo (Benoit Duyoner de Segonzac) y batería (André Arpino).

Su especialidad es interpretarlas obras de Bach, aunque también hace versiones de otros compositores clásicos; Vivaldi, Ravel, Debussy, etc... además de composiciones propias.

Sobra decir que las versiones son de una maestría y un buen gusto exquisitos.
